Century City Conference Centre brings intelligent design to Meetings Africa
05 April, 2017
In order to tell their story - Century City called for a stand that represents and successfully expresses their brands, while creating an environment that would encourage the opportunity for successful networking sessions. ConCept G Exhibitions and Events answered the call drawing from Century City’s architecture and designed a stand incorporating three focal features using the existing frame structure used at the previous Meetings Africa event.
The first includes the iconic slated timber wall feature branded with the Century City logo, which runs alongside the conference centre’s foyer staircase. The slated CNC branded timber was used as a wrap-around wall on the side of the exhibition stand to create a semi-secluded meeting area. The use of the slated timber, complements the understated warm and timeless interior design of the conference building which is carried through onto the stand and allows natural light to flow through the space.
The open meeting area on the exhibition stand is brought to life with replicas of the sophisticated linear pendant lights that can be found in the Conference Centre’s foyer. They also illuminate the National Anthem, the third focal design element. Recessed vertically onto a cement finished side exhibition wall, the anthem brings an element of elegance.
To finish the design of the stand and ensure a strong brand presence, the Century City Hotel, Century City Conference Centre and Century City Square logos were added to the wall behind the reception counter using an intaglio technique to light up the logos with LED lighting.
Awarded the large stand runner up winner at Meetings Africa, the stand is an eclectic mix of industrial and chic, neutral palette and warm tactile materials, open spaces and intimate areas – juxtaposed to create a place that is functional and truly inspires.
