    Africa Travel Week not to be missed

    The leisure travel, luxury travel and business tourism sectors are gearing up for the second Africa Travel Week (ATW) taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 13 – 17 April 2015.


    The event is organised by Thebe Reed Exhibitions and comprises of three co-located shows World Travel Market a(WTM) Africa, the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) Africa exhibition and Incentives, Business Travel & Meetings (IBTM) Africa exhibition.

    IBTM Africa and ILTM Africa are specialist invitation-only events whereby elite meeting planners and buyers can join exhibitors for an exclusive opportunity to hold pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings. WTM® Africa is the only exhibition in Africa that caters for both inbound and outbound travel and is therefore imperative for the African travel industry in terms of influencing the market as well as driving economic growth within the continent.

    “WTM® Africa will kick off with an official opening address by the Executive Mayor of Cape Town, Patricia de Lille. A core theme and focus for WTM® Africa is responsible tourism and how the travel industry can help improve the impact their sectors have on social development and improvement within their country, on their continent and globally”, adds Sugen Pillay, Commercial Director of Thebe Reed Exhibitions.

    This is the continent’s largest international travel event, forecasted to draw 5000 travel professionals to the CTICC. “An iconic event of this scale will not only put the spotlight on Africa but give us a competitive edge by providing focused, relevant, quality market-related knowledge and expertise”, concludes Megan Arendse, CTICC General Manager: Commercial & Business Development.
