New website, partnership to grow business events

The South African National Convention Bureau (SANCB), a division of SA Tourism, has appointed a sales representation company in Europe and Asia and unveiled a new website to promote the country as a business events destination.

Speaking at EIBTM in Barcelona earlier this month, Thulani Nzima, SA Tourism CEO, said the SANCB had appointed convention bureau specialists, Gaining Edge, to support the bureau’s goal to build SA’s profile as a business events destination and help grow business sourced from these two important regions.

“SANCB has been in operation for nearly two years and we are working hard to ensure that Africa as a continent works together in partnership, to significantly grow Africa’s share of global business events,” said Nzima.

Nzima also spoke about the bureau’s campaign, ‘Rise with Us’, which aims to promote SA as a destination for meetings, events, incentives and exhibitions.

As part of the campaign, a website has been launched that profiles SA’s venues and allows visitors to download tool kits for meetings and incentives. The website can be accessed here.
