Anglo American @ Investing in African Mining Indaba 2015

    Special Forces:
Custom exhibition stand at Investing in African Mining Indaba 2015

To execute flawless project management for the build of a custom exhibition stand that will, through careful analysis of the provided design, create a space that proves modern, dynamic, and free flowing. The stand, accessible from all approaches in the exhibition hall, should have strong brand presence, be interactive, inviting and easy to understand. The provision of several pause areas for comfortable conversation should be easily identifiable, allowing delegates the opportunity to enjoy the Anglo American full brand experience, and to gather targeted and useful information that is specific to their individual needs.

    Plan of Action:
Adhering to the given brief and design, the SSQuad made it a priority to ensure that our Clients’ custom exhibition stand was constructed with a level of quality that exceeds expectations.

Measured at 80 square metres, and manufactured as a custom open plan island exhibition stand, various elements and areas of the stand were utilised to create emphasis around a dedicated theme: “Creating Shared Value”. 2 x digital interactive touch screens displaying company content, a Twitter screen that displayed live feed, a 4 x 1.5 metre AV screen, and 2 iPads paired with the bench seating introduced and sustained enhanced delegate and brand interaction, allowing Client the opportunity to demonstrate and communicate to stakeholders on how Anglo American creates shared value in everything they do.

Complemented by split flooring, one half sprayed in the Anglo American CI blue and the other being a timber laminate floor that blended in with a part of one of the 4 walls, two separate work pause areas were created to allow delegates to have a seat and peruse company content from the provided iPads. In the lower tower of the exhibition stand, a mini class room was recreated with school desks, a black board and school bell, to put emphasis on Anglo American’s passion and strong belief in the importance of education in the country, and among their work force.

Delegates were received and assisted by a representative seated behind a custom made branded reception counter, and further engaged by vibrant infographics brought to life through the use of 3D laser cut images on graphics on the walls on their towers, and through a world map that indicated their various locations of operation. All external graphics were lit using strategically placed strong long-arm spot lights, and internal graphics were lit using adjustable down lights, fluorescent lighting, and decorative pendant lighting.

As the cherry on top, a commodity wall, showcasing all the commodities mined by Anglo American, was on display for delegates to peruse.

    Mission Accomplished:
Most certainly. Pleased with all the great feedback received from the show, she sent the SSQuad a small note:

    “Hi team
I would just like to say a MASSIVE thank you to each of you for a hugely successful Mining Indaba. The entire Anglo American comms team unanimously agreed that this was the best Mining Indaba yet.
Once again for delivering such excellence.

    Warm regards,

    Head | Brand Consultant
