It is an exciting Women’s Month for the CTICC – Top 40 Women in MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) has once again recognised the centre’s Chief Executive Officer, Julie-May Ellingson, as one of 40 women who has made an outstanding contribution to the business events industry.
Ellingson will be recognised at a gala luncheon this August
“I am humbled and honoured to be recognised as one of the many women who help grow our industry. A United Nations report on women in business has shown that the more women you have in your labour force, the faster your economic growth. At the CTICC, we hope that we are contributing to this growth,” said Ellingson She adds that it is crucial that women in the industry lend their support to uplifting and empowering other women who play pivotal roles in their local communities “It is precisely for this reason that the CTICC involves itself in events and projects that uplift and empower women and girls. At present, the centre proudly supports the Foundation for Alcohol-Related Research (FARR) that dedicates itself to reducing birth defects and mental disabilities that is caused by alcohol consumption during pregnancy. We also supported 1000 Women 1 Voice, a local community initiative for abused women and girls by hosting a fundraising luncheon at the CTICC. It’s very important for us to support and help where we can,” said Ellingson.
