The Event Greening Forum (EGF) proudly announces its new board leadership and committee chairs, marking a significant step forward in its commitment to sustainable event management. With a blend of seasoned expertise and fresh perspectives, the new appointments promise to steer EGF towards even greater accomplishments in the realm of event greening.

John Arvanitakis, CEO of Chat’r Xperience, assumes the role of Chair, succeeding the esteemed Morwesi Ramonyai of Borena Energy. Acknowledging Morwesi’s dedicated
service, John expresses his gratitude, stating, “I am truly humbled and honored to step into this role. Morwesi has set a high standard, and I am excited to build upon her legacy.”

Neo Mohlatlole of Seven Colors Communications steps up from the Marketing Committee Chair to become the new Vice Chair, alongside the unwavering Treasurer, Justin Hawes of Scan Display, and the steadfast Secretariat, Lynn McLeod.

Under John’s leadership, the board is poised to uphold EGF’s mission of advancing sustainable event management. “I am committed to fostering collaboration and innovation within our community,” John remarks. “Together, we will continue to champion environmentally responsible practices while ensuring the prosperity of our industry.”

In addition to the board appointments, EGF welcomes new committee chairs and members, enhancing the diversity and expertise within the organization. Notable additions include Sonja van Rooyen of Specialised Exhibitions, Joey Swart of Take Note Events, Emma Kumalo of Chat’r Xperience, and Angelique Smith of Event Synthesis. Additionally, EGF is pleased to announce the new chairs of its subcommittees: Justin Hawes of Scan Display for the Finance Committee, Grace Stead for the Education and Training Committee, Gavin Burgess of Technology Partners for the Marketing Committee, and JP van Schalkwyk of Up-A-Tone Events for the Membership Committee.

Furthermore, we extend our sincere gratitude to the associate member representatives for their continued support and collaboration: AAXO, EXSA, Fedhasa, IFEA Africa, The MICE Academy, PCO Alliance, SAACI, SACIA/TPSA, and SA Roadies. Their dedication and partnership are invaluable as we work together to advance sustainable event management practices and drive positive change within the industry.

Reflecting on her tenure, outgoing Chair Morwesi Ramonyai expresses confidence in John’s leadership. “It has been a privilege to serve EGF alongside such dedicated individuals,” Morwesi remarks. “I am thrilled to pass the torch to John, knowing that his passion and vision will propel EGF to new heights.”
